Heitor Villa-Lobos believed that music is the universal language capable of bringing together all peoples, and inspiring love and respect for the natural world. He devoted many years of his life to the development of music education programs and to advocacy for music education.
An important part of our vision for Green Mansions, is to stay true to this legacy by developing educational programming devoted to such issues as environmental advocacy, tolerance and human rights, as well as music, dance, science and the visual arts, and to use the meaningful story-telling through music and dance of our Green Mansions as a powerful medium, transcending language barriers, to inspire, inform and motivate a worldwide audience to action on critical issues of our time.
Our Spotlight Events for Green Mansions Guild Members have been created in furtherance of this vision, and to act as a springboard for future educational programming.
